Sophia Omidiji


Sophia Omotola Omidiji is a football player for the Super Falconets of Nigeria and Dutch Eredivise side, S.B.V. Excelsior. Prior to playing for the Dutch side, she played for KAA Gent in Belgium in June 2017.

Born on June 18, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Nigerian father, Lateef from Abeoukuta, Ogun State and American mother, Crystal Lynn, young Sophia began playing football at the age of five. She played high school soccer for Sierra Vista High School where she is the all-time leading goal scorer. She also played club soccer with Las Vegas Premier Sports Academy for coach Eyal Dahan.

She has three younger brothers who also play football. Lateef Omidiji Jr. plays for the 2016-2017 Dutch champions: Feyenoord O15's; Rasheed plays for FC Den Bosch's O10's selection team, and Amir plays for V.V Baronie's JY7's. 

Football is definitely part of the family. 

She currently attends Webster University in Leiden, Netherlands and also takes online classes working on a degree in Business Management, after graduating with honors from Sierra Vista High School.
