WINIFRED OKPAPI

Art Manager

“And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

Winnie is a self-developed craftsman, Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Convener.

A Microsoft Certified IT Professional and formerly an Engineering major, she started art at an early age, won art awards and went on to co-organize her first exhibition in 2006 while in school.

She has since embarked on an exhilarating and inspirational journey, collaborating with various artists and individuals around the country and constantly sources for old and new talents, looking for ways to keep Artists going and keep African Art alive.

Winnie is heavily involved in the local art community through several projects including teaching art at an orphanage. She’s a curator and creator with a driving enthusiasm to build better art experiences to engage people in new and better ways of reaching their creative potential.

She has worked with Nike Art Gallery, Century Oil & Gas, Tribes Art Gallery, Art Frankly and the British Council in developing Art programmes and fostering relationships with other organisations. She has been providing art services to companies and institutions for over nine years including art restoration, art commissioning, public art projects and exhibitions. She founded the FEWL Series and Plein Air Lagos.

When she's not in Visual Art mode, she dives into other art forms like dancing, listening to soul music, history & archaeology, movie hangouts, appreciating sarcasm...
