Hamza has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an MSC in Energy Finance from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) of the University of Dundee, Scotland. He has extensive financial and risk management experience accumulated in over 15 years of service in the Financial Services, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors of Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Before assuming his current role, he was the Head, Group Credit and Market Portfolio Risk Management at Zenith Bank Plc, in Nigeria.

During his time there, he served as a member of a steering committee on Sustainability, Environmental and Social Risk Management set up by The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). His commitment and dedication to this cause earned him a personal commendation from the then Governor of the Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

He has also worked – operating at various financial designations - at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Adam & Company (a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland), Compagnie Generale de Logistics (Nigeria & UK), Brand-Rex Ltd (UK), Flexcon Europe (UK) and National Oilwell Varco (UK).

Hamza is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) UK, and Risk Managers Association of Nigeria (RIMAN).

Owing to his passion for Economics, finance, Investment and Risk analysis as well as the growth potentials of SMEs, he offers pro bono assistance – in an advisory capacity – to small firms with tight budgets.

Hamza is an ardent fan of Formula 1 Racing and  lives in Lagos with his wife and three children.
